Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) Controller

Responsible for the local accounting and finance support of the APJ region and legal entities, reporting to VP Finance and Accounting. based in Singapore.

Job Description:

  • General accounting – GL maintenance, reconciliations, monthly close process, support finance analysts with accounting issues, guiding and supervising the external accounting firms in the various location
  • Annual financial audit based on US GAAP
  • Corporate and other local tax – forecasting, Corporate reporting, annual tax return, transfer pricing, ad hoc tax issues
  • Trade and customs
  • Provide finance support for salary and HR administration for APJ subsidiaries
  • Internal controls including SOX –review and maintain internal controls, in certain cases define and implement control processes
  • Preparation of work papers supporting the annual tax return and tax accounting
  • Preparation of work papers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances
  • Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
  • Supporting Regional Treasury activities
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations

Job Requirements:

  • Certified Public Accountant – at least 5 years and up to 10 years’ experience
  • Experience in a large CPA firm, experience with Hi-tech companies
  • US GAAP knowledge
  • Background/experience working for a multi-national firm
  • Strong accounting and tax knowledge  
  • SOX knowledge
  • ERP – helpful
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.
  • Outstanding attention to details
  • Multitasking between many tasks and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills
  • Excellent English (written and verbal).
