CyberArk Addresses Privileged Account Threat for Industrial Control Systems at CyberSecurity for the Chemical Industry USA Event

September 27, 2012

NEWTON, Mass. – September 27, 2012 – CyberArk® Software, the leading global information security provider for protecting and managing privileged accounts and sessions, critical applications and sensitive information, today announced details of its presentation at the Cyber Security for the Chemical Industry USA Conference. The event is a forum of IT security focused meetings for the chemical, pharmaceutical and petrochemical industries that aims to help organizations secure their operational systems from increasingly sophisticated cyber-attacks.

In his session, “Securing, Managing and Monitoring Privileged Account and User Access to Industrial Control Systems,” Cyber-Ark’s Michael Marino will discuss how privileged accounts have emerged as the primary target for cyber-attackers, and why chemical organizations that fail to protect these accounts – that exist in both IT and operational infrastructure — leave themselves vulnerable. C-level executives and IT professionals in attendance will learn how to secure privileged access to protect their critical infrastructure and meet compliance regulations.

Who: Michael Marino, vice president system engineers, Americas at Cyber-Ark Software

What: Securing, Managing and Monitoring Privileged Account and User Access to Industrial Control Systems – Many times organizations neglect the management of their most privileged administrative accounts which grant system-wide access to critical and sensitive systems. Often, these accounts are shared or used by multiple parties within the organization as well as third-parties who support the infrastructure, leaving the organization open to a wide variety of internal and external threats. In order to create a more secure environment, this session will cover best practices for proper management, monitoring and audit of these privileged accounts which exist across IT, critical networks and facilities.

When: The Cyber Security for the Chemical Industry USA Conference runs September 27-28. The Cyber-Ark session is scheduled for Friday, September 28 at 9:30 a.m. CDT.

Where: The event takes place at the Renaissance Houston Hotel in Houston, Texas.
