CyberArk Joins Cloud Security Alliance

NEWTON, Mass – September 28, 2010 – Cyber-Ark® Software, the leading global software provider for protecting critical applications, identities and information, today announced it has joined the Cloud Security Alliance. As a corporate member, Cyber-Ark will promote best practices and support educational initiatives associated with creating and maintaining secure cloud computing environments.

Cyber-Ark will add its expertise in privileged identity management, risk management and compliance to support the Cloud Security Alliance’s initiatives and working groups, specifically focusing on encouraging the adoption of new security policies and other steps to reduce insider threat vulnerabilities. Cyber-Ark will also provide input into the next release of the group’s Security Guidance for Critical Areas of Focus in Cloud Computing.

“Cyber-Ark’s expertise in privileged identity management is a strong complement to our existing membership, adding insight into important risk management processes necessary to protect organizations’ most sensitive data in the cloud – including establishing better control over who is accessing sensitive systems and applications,” said Jim Reavis, founder of the Cloud Security Alliance. “Cyber-Ark will play an important role in helping us identify solutions to emerging cloud computing security challenges and communicate about industry-specific audit and compliance requirements.”

Global organizations that rely on a variety of virtualized and cloud-based technologies are increasingly turning to Cyber-Ark’s Privileged Identity Management Suite to more effectively address risk management and compliance priorities. Cyber-Ark offers a full life cycle solution for centrally managing an organization’s privileged accounts, users and sessions as well as embedded passwords found in applications and scripts. The Suite is an enterprise-class, unified policy-based solution that secures, manages and monitors all privileged accounts, users and activities associated with data center management whether on-premise, at a hosting provider or in the cloud.

“With administrators now responsible for environments that allow external parties access to highly-sensitive applications, processes, services, systems and data, it’s critical to exercise better governance over these assets by extending control to all privileged accounts, including application and end-user access rights,” said Adam Bosnian, executive vice president Americas and corporate development, Cyber-Ark Software. “We consider the Cloud Security Alliance an important, influential group that has had a positive impact on driving innovation, adoption and awareness around security issues in the cloud computing space. We look forward to becoming an active, valuable member of the organization.”
