The Strategic Accounts Solutions Engineer (SASE) is responsible for owning all aspects of the technical sales cycle to help the Strategic Account Executives (SAE) drive customer success on CyberArk solutions with CyberArk’s most visible customers. While this includes traditional pre-sales SE responsibilities (e.g. Demos/POCs) the vast majority of the role will involve longer-term strategic tasks since most strategic accounts are existing clients with expansion opportunity. Typical day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to: providing strategic guidance to Fortune 100 clients on how to effectively use and deploy CyberArk solutions, assisting with the design of ideal solution sets to help customers solve privileged account security challenges, evangelizing best practices for mitigating privilege account risk, aiding SAEs in effectively positioning CyberArk value proposition to C-Level executives, as well as continually researching new technologies and attack vectors in order to help customers understand how CyberArk can secure an ever-changing technology landscape. In addition, the SASE may be called upon to aid in limited project management capacities to help customers struggling with implementation get organized and on track for timely deployment.
The SASE is expected to work closely with SAEs to strategize on how best to work an account, position products, and coordinate various internal resources depending on the task at hand. This could also include working with CyberArk’s various Strategic Advisory Firm partners to ensure consistent messaging and value creation for all involved parties. Some travel will be required for the SASE as onsite overview, whiteboarding, or proof-of-concepts sessions arise.
On the technical front, the SASE will need to be capable of installing, configuring, and demonstrating the CyberArk solutions. Since CyberArk solutions touch potentially hundreds of different technologies the SASE will need to be able to quickly establish a high-level understanding of various different platforms. Given this, a pre-existing competency on very common technologies like Windows, Unix, Cloud Platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure), and web services is a must. Additional experience in scripting, virtualization, and databases is a plus. While not a major part of the job, the SASE can also be called in to help troubleshoot the occasional technical issue that may fall outside of traditional break/fix support.
Bottom line, the SASE will need to have the ability to quickly learn and then communicate very technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences as well as have an openness to taking on a wide variety of pre-sales and longer-term strategic projects.
