DBS Bank Extends Relationship with Cyber-Ark to Six Key Markets in Asia-Pacific

October 12, 2011

NEWTON, Mass. – October 12, 2011 Cyber-Ark® Software, the leading global information security provider for protecting and managing critical applications, identities and sensitive information, today announced that DBS, a leading financial services group in Asia, has expanded its relationship with Cyber-Ark to five additional markets in Asia-Pacific, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, China and Indonesia. DBS has also expanded its use of Cyber-Ark solutions to encompass the Privileged Session Management (PSM) Suite, alongside its existing Privileged Identity Management (PIM) Suite.

As a leading financial services group in Asia, operating across 15 markets with more than 200 branches and more than 17,000 employees, DBS originally sought a solution that could automate the process of managing and updating privileged user and administrative accounts, most notably around managing passwords, while also meeting stringent and complex compliance regulations governing the market. The solution also had to be capable of scaling to meet its future requirements in the region.

“With more than 17,000 employees and operations in 15 markets, it is important for DBS to have complete insight into our privileged identity usage across the region. Our collaboration with Cyber-Ark has resulted in greater efficiency and security among other benefits derived from the automation of processes that manage privileged identities,” said Keng Seng Wei, senior vice president at DBS. “By extending the solution and expanding its use to cover six markets, we can better control and monitor access to our sensitive information.”

As well as extending the solution to cover six markets, DBS is also in the process of deploying Cyber-Ark’s PSM Suite. This comprehensive solution improves compliance and risk management with the unique ability to isolate, control and record privileged access to databases, virtual environments and servers using a common platform for reduced total cost of ownership.

“We are delighted to have extended our relationship with DBS even further, both in terms of solutions implemented, and geography covered,” said Dan Dinnar, vice president of sales, Asia-Pacific at Cyber-Ark. “By boosting its security practices around privileged accounts, DBS is demonstrating best practice information security procedures within the financial services industry and affirming its position as a true market leader.”
