CyberArk Congratulates Enbridge Gas Distribution on SC Magazine Award for Best Security Team

June 28, 2011

NEWTON, Mass. – June 28, 2011 – Cyber-Ark® Software, the leading global information security provider for protecting and managing critical applications, identities and sensitive information, extends congratulations to its customer Enbridge Gas Distribution, Canada’s largest gas distribution utility, which was recognized by SC Magazine with a Best Security Team award. The organization was one of several SC Award Canada winners that were honored during the SC Congress Canada Data Security Conference & Expo.

Facing increasingly complex and rigid compliance and security requirements, Enbridge Gas Distribution established its dedicated IT Security program in 2007 with the goal of transforming the organization’s approach to IT security while significantly raising awareness of both personal and enterprise cyber safety among its staff. The IT Risk Management team was recognized for implementing new technologies, centralizing processes and establishing enforceable security policies.

Working with IT solutions provider Conexsys Communications Limited, Enbridge Gas Distribution implemented Cyber-Ark’s Privileged Identity Management Suite to enforce an enterprise policy that protects its most critical systems, managing the entire lifecycle of shared and privileged accounts. Centralizing and automating the processes associated with password management and tracking resulted in significant time savings for Enbridge.

“We, along with our partner Conexsys, offer our congratulations to Enbridge Gas Distribution and its stellar IT Risk Management team,” said Adam Bosnian, executive vice president of Americas and corporate development, Cyber-Ark.

According to SC Magazine, Best Security Team award winners are those end-user teams that have successfully established and implemented an integral and/or innovative/cutting-edge component of their security program, and have spearheaded various areas of support for its success such as strong end-user awareness training, good configuration management and more.
