Closing the Workforce Password Management Gap in the Enterprise

June 5, 2025

Passwords remain a persistent source of risk in enterprise environments, despite growing interest in passwordless authentication. Employees are often required to manage numerous credentials, leading to risky behaviors such as password reuse, inadequate storage practices, and reliance on unauthorized tools. Meanwhile, traditional and consumer-grade password managers frequently lack the security, visibility, and integration capabilities needed at scale.

This paper examines the evolving challenges of workforce password management and presents a modern framework for securing credentials in a way that aligns with both security requirements and user productivity. By analyzing common gaps and proposing best practices around secure storage, access, monitoring, and sharing, this work highlights how organizations can reduce credential-related threats while improving the end-user experience.
